A Place to Call Home

Ron and I have found an apartment to call home. =) It was so exciting! He's moving in on the 16th of February. Yes he, not we. I'll be slowly moving my things into the apartment but won't be living there til later on.

It's a one bedroom apartment that is in between my work and his work. We decided to go for an apartment before buying a house because I am still looking for a permanent job and who knows where I'll end up.

Anyways, we're both excited about having our own place!

Vendor: Rockwell's Creative Cakes

We had our cake tasting session with our vendor, Rockwell's Creative Cakes.

I would have to say this was the easiest part of the whole wedding planning process! We came in, they gave us our samples, told them what they wanted and TADA! all done! I swear it only took us a good 20 minutes.

Ron of course was set on the red velvet cake once he saw it. He practically chose the cake, even the design. It will have bavarian cream and Raspberry Jam (which I am not fond of cause I hate raspberry). It will probably taste better when it's actually put together.

As you can see, Ron dove into the red velvet even before I was able to take a photo.

Here is the design of our cake, but of course, with our colors. That is not the cake topper we will be using. =D

Bridesmaid/Flower Girl Dresses

All the girls have ordered their dresses.

Sadly, the our priest emphasized how important it was that the girls are covered. So, being the nice person that I am .. I'm ordering shawls for all my bridesmaids and paying it out of my pocket. Yikes! I personally do not want them to wear shawls, but then I don't want to get in trouble from our priest. Hehe.

Bridemaid/MOH Dresses

They are from Alfred Angelo and run about $180 with tax. For the MOHs the blue part is going to be tangerine and the white part will be fuschia. The bridesmaids are the opposite. Since it's a long dress, the girls are choosing their own shoes as long as it's silver.

On the left is Kristen (Ron's sister), and my 2nd MOH. Next to her is Laura (Ron's cousins). The one in the middle is Nicolle (my cousin). These are the young ladies of my bridal party.

Flower Girl Dresses

I can't be more ecastatic about my flower girls' dresses! We were even able to get a discount on them! I couldn't wait for them to try it on so I had my cousin bring her daughter over ASAP! We got them at this little shop in the mall. As a gift, I got the girls' matching tiaras and a jewelry set. SO FREAKIN' CUTE!!!!!!!

We're going to our cake tasting today! Update later!

Save the Date Glue Dilemma

We were able to fix the glue issue. We had to scratch off a small area of the cardstock (because it was glossy) in order for the ribbon to stick to the glue. So the past few days, I've been printing out the envelopes and stuffing them as I wait for my FMIL to send me their guestlist/addresses.

I'm so excited to send them out! ;D So I'm hoping within 2 weeks or so.

I'm still on winter break this week from work. Back to work next week.

I've been under the weather today. I am soooo fighting it! I don't want to get sick!

My niece and nephews have been with me this past week. It's so quiet here! It was nice having them around. They helped me ALOT with completing our Save the Dates!

Here's a video of them doing what they do best. :P

First Bridezilla Moment

I had my very first Bridezilla moment!

Being the nice sister than I am I was helping out my brother who told his friend that he would do a photo montage for her 18th birthday celebration. Homegirl was supposed to drop it off at 7 am but overslept. My brother had work and since I have more experience creating montages he asked if I could do it. So I said sure. Homegirl dropped it off in our mailbox because I was out and about. I started working on it at 2pm thinking that it will be done by 5pm. She had hell'a photos which was not organized.

Now I'm the type of person who like to do things the right way rather than just do it. So I made her montage (not my best, but hey with the party being this evening, it is the best she could get). Then she freakin' asks me if I can drop it off. I was like uh .. no .. I have an appointment. I was already doing this thing as a favor. Then she tells me she can't get anyone to pick it up. Boy did I throw a fit at my brother. I even took it out on my niece and nephew who stuck the magnets onto our Save the Dates. I was VERY upset. I did not just waste 3+ hours of my time for nothing. I could have been working on wedding stuff! On top of that I got upset at my niece and nephew because some of the magnets were not straight. =X I'm just glad they didn't get upset that I was yelling at them. They did say sorry and I did say sorry back.

I hope I don't have a second Bridezilla moment! I didn't like it at all!
