Please Pray

The past few days has been an emotional rollercoaster. Please pray for one of our family's many dogs, Gordo. Gordo belongs to Ron and my in-laws. He is Stitch's brother and best buddy. He was admitted into the hospital yesterday due to a ruptured disc. I know some of you are thinking, it's JUST a dog, but Gordo is not JUST a dog. He is family.

On Sunday, at our weekly gathering at Grandma's, he wasn't himself. Everyone knew he wasn't himself. He wasn't running around, he wasn't humping everyone he saw, and most of all he wasn't wrestling with Coco (Tita Yunita and Tito Bong's puppy).

On Monday morning, Daddy Tony took him to vet. They checked him and gave him medicine. Monday afternoon, Mommy Nora came home and found Gordo sprawled out on the floor, unable to get up. He was given more medication and some shots. He was capable of walking still, with weakness in his left hind leg.

Yesterday morning, Daddy Tony took him to the vet again because he was dragging himself around the house now. He had no movement in his hind legs at all. He also has lost control over his bladder/bm. The vet then sent Daddy Tony to take Gordo to a specialist in Fountain Valley (mind you that my in laws live in Rosemead). Luckily it was close enough from our place that I was able to help them.

When they arrived, Gordo was excited to see me standing outside of their van, which made me very happy. Since he has lost the use of his hind legs, he needed to be carried around. He was smiling the whole time in the vet's lounge and waiting room. When my brother arrived he got excited again. He liked the ladies that were checking him, but when Dr. B came in, oh how he got very defensive. I don't think he liked Dr. B. He was strong enough to drag himself quickly and hide under a chair.

Dr. B. checked him and said it may possibly be a ruptured disc. He did some little things to Gordo. He did that joint checker thing where when you hit someone's knee it's supposed to move. Gordo didn't move. He squeezed Gordo's hind toes and he squeeled. We felt a sigh of relief. Dr. B. said that feelings in Gordo's toes is a good sign. After explaining what it may be, the procedure, and the price of the procedure, we had no choice to admit him. Dr. B. said that he has a 85%-95% chance he will walk normal again.

Today he under went surgery. Dr. B said that there was a lot of bleeding in his spinal cord area. Due to that, there is only a 50-50 chance percent that he will walk again. Our family is hoping and praying that his physical therapy will go well and that he WILL walk again.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and positive thoughts our way. Gordo is part of our family and we love him very much. It breaks our heart to see him going thru all this. I will keep you all updated.

It's almost done!

Our house is almost done! Move in/closing is April 30th. So soon! So excited!

On a side note, I got Pink Slipped. Our HR person said not to worry because they are confident that they will re-hire us. My co-worker said she's gotten one every year for the past 3 years. I'm just waiting. We'll find out in May. Positive thoughts.

I did join a rally on Pink Friday. Photos courtesy of Swanky Photography.

New Additions to Our Family

The other day I found a dog at work. Searched for lost poster signs, checked online, and posted online. She was so scruffy and dirty. It was very sad and gross. I took her to my parents house to clean her up a bit and I still can't believe all the nasty stuff I had to cut off of her hair. Took her home. Took her to the vet to get here scanned for a microchip. Decided to get her vaccinated just in case and for an exam.

Vet says she is about 4 years old. She is in okay shape despite a hernia. She has had puppies. She has never had any vaccinations based on her reaction to getting vaccinations. She is most likely from a puppy mill based on her reaction to other dogs. Sad.

We have named her Trixie. She is a sweet dog. Not playful, but sweet. She is always sleeping, but she loves talking walks. Surprisingly, Lilo gets along with her very well.

Meet Trixie, our new addition to our family.Ron just adores her. <3

On a side note, the same day I found her and got her cleaned up at my parents' house, my uncle drops off this new addition to my parents' home. Let's just say that my mom had a cow but is enjoying the new terror (she's sooo puppy compared to Lilo & Stitch). I heard that my brother was doing his laundry and dropped his sock and she took it and he had to chase her all over the place. Hehe.

Meet Winkie...now known as Sasha. She is a purebred maltese. She is 14 months old.
So our family of dogs is now 4. Crazy stuff. That's all for now. ;D

Our First Valentine's Day

Yesterday was quite lovely. I can't stop thinking about it.

We decided not to get each other any gifts since we didn't really want anything because we're saving up for house stuff.

Woke up...gave him his card. Went back to bed for a very long time because I was not feeling well. Woke up again to get our dinner clothes ready. Got his card.

Went to the Cannery in Newport Beach. Love the place! Sat at our table. As we were getting settled, the hostess brought flowers to our table and said "Special Delivery". Apparently Ron made arrangements for flowers to be delivered. It was a sweet surprise. =)

The food was good but a little salty. I had the Lobster Bisque and Filet Minon, while Ron had the Mango Crab Cakes and Lamb. The desert was DELICIOUS! And so cute! ;D

Our first Valentine's day....loved it. =)

The yummy desert!

Speaking of house, it is coming along well! For photos visit our flickr page.

24 minutes...

24 minutes left of 2008...

It's been a very exciting year. In the beginning of the year, I was excited about our apartment. This coming year we will have our own home. Looking back at my blog this past year just makes me realize how time flies and all of the things that I have accomplished and have been blessed with. I told Ron the other day that I still can't believe that we're married. It took us 10 years to do so, but it was worth the wait. We really planned our future life together to help us have a better life.

Things to look forward to in 2009...

Our new home. About 4 months left. =) Very excited, but very sad to be leaving the OC.

Francis and Michelle's wedding.

Grandma and Grandpa's 80th and 90th birthday.

Carlo graduating.

Making a baby (:P) after Francis and Michelle's wedding.

I'll leave it at that for now! 15 minutes left!!!

Have a safe and happy new year friends!

Howdy!

The reason for the tracker in our previous post...

We bought a house a couple of months ago. End of October? It is a 3 story single family corner lot home with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a loft. This was not the previous lot that we wanted. Long story. To make it short, we got a better deal, same model w. more square footage, AND cheaper! It is a house that we looked at last year but knew we could not afford, but thanks to the buyer's market, it's ours. All ours! Still can't believe it. =) A brand spankin' new house! *sigh* Closing is in May. Ron and I are very excited. =)

Another project I have been working on. I think it's mighty cute! It's for Ron's Grandma's 80th Birthday. I am REALLY liking this whole invitation making thing!

I have yet to blog about the wedding! I kind of started but will release everything when it's totally finished. =)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Spent our in the Bay with Ron's mom's side of the family. Good times as always!

Til next time!
